I had food catered here for an office lunch several times. They were so good. So sad that they have now closed. For those who complains about their food being bland or need more salt are the reason why high blood pressure is so prevalent in America. Their food was fresh and sauces were a good pairing to the dishes. And the lemonade and green juice were refreshing. Not everything needs to be salt laden. I'll miss you Viva Chicken! Please come back...

Driving back from Dawsonville and really wanted something other than the norm. We found this place on Yelp and the reviews were enough to make us walk in. They were super inviting as we walked in, we got samples of the beans and the passion fruit drink. That drink is delicious so I ordered that with my meal.. the chicken was good. I wanted a little more seasoning on it but that's ok. Next time I will try the cilantro rice, the fried rice was a bit dry for my liking but the plantains were delicious so those will always be something I get when I come back..

I stopped by to try this place after reading Yelp reviews. The chicken was tender and flavorful. This was my first time trying the yucca fries. They were ok with the sauce and cheese but probably opt for french fries next time me being a gringo and all.The counter service dude was great at explaining the food and friendly.Ambiance was booths and tables with weird trance music playing. I' m not sure what happened to shake shack but viva chicken is a nice and healthier option.

Glad there are healthier food options around Alpharetta. Saw these guys tabling by the Big Peach store on Windward Pkwy, had a sample, and decided to check the restaurant out. It's kinda like Nando's in the UK, focus on roasted chicken with your choice of sides. You can order a whole, half, or quarter chicken, white or dark, hot sauce (mild med and hot) and your choice of 2 sides. Got the quarter chicken meal (thigh), yucca fries, and plantains for $10, pretty fair price. I love yucca to begin with, but to the uninitiated, it's thicker and chewier than normal potatoes. They're pretty thick cut, and have a nice crisp exterior. The queso dipping sauce it came with was mediocre, tasted mealy and sorta like the chipotle queso. The chicken tastes like Costco rotisserie chicken but elevated, actually fall off the bone tenderness, you can taste the marinade throughout the meat. The mild sauce rekinded me of chimmichurri, cilantro, creamy bright sour. Hot wasn't really my favorite, less flavor than mild, wasnt even that spicy (white people spicy). Gonna come here again and grab a whole chicken for the fam, Marco at the cashier was a real homie and enthusiastic about the food.

Walking through my memory palace, my recollection of this place is that I would be back but need to try something different. The menu is what I would call not overly complex which makes decision making a little less challenging. Decided on the quarter chicken plate and the burrito. The burrito is enormous. Just looking at it and knew I would not be able to finish both halves. I got the fries as a side from a recommendation from the person at the counter to clearly knew what they were talking about. They were hot and crispy, and if you picked up a long one, it would break under its own weight. Other notables include the corn salad which has giant Peruvian corn kernels. Yummy. As for the burrito itself, a little flat and flavor and a bit bland, so don't forget the green sauce, which is hella good. Viva Chicken has both an indoor and outdoor dining space. I would be inclined to go to the outdoor space next time because the seating seemed it would be much more comfortable. The interior space has a decent amount of seating, but it's all hard wooden booths and chairs. Overall, that's good to get some new flavor to the Alpharetta dining scene.
